The lycopene in tomatoes is most easily absorbed by your body when cooked.  Garlic - Not only is it useful for keeping Twilight fans away, garlic also contains vitamin B-6. While you’ve probably never really given B-6 much thought, it’s crucial in regulating your sex hormones. Dried beans, like adzuki beans, may lower your risk for cancer, diabetes and heart disease. They are a low-fat protein source that is rich in vitamins and minerals.

    Don’t get us wrong: The holiday season is all about celebrating, togetherness, and indulging—in moderation. So pass the eggnog and let’s tackle navigating holiday food spreads, hectic schedules, and sidelined gym routines.
    1. Eat before drinking and celebrating.
    Skipping breakfast or lunch in order to “save your appetite” probably isn’t the best weight-maintenance tactic. Not eating until the afternoon may lead to binging later. Our advice? Stick to a reasonably sized breakfast with plenty of protein, which will keep you fuller longer and temper the urge to stuff your face later. Don’t forget the water!
    2. Pick protein. (Before sweets)
    Like we just mentioned, protein can help maintain a healthy weight because high-protein diets are associated with greater satiety (bonus benefit: It’s important for healthy muscle growth). Make sure to serve up some turkey, roasted chicken, or prepare animal-free alternatives like quinoa, lentils, or beans.
    3. Bring your own.
    Rather than try to figure out what’s in every dish at a friend’s party (or avoid eating altogether), bring a healthy side dish or dessert. Taste what you want, but know you have a healthy alternative to fall back on. If you eat healthy first, you won’t eat as much of the other less healthy choices.
    4. Eat and chew slowly.
    This should be a time to do a lot of catching up with friends and family. Do not talk with your mouth full and eating slower will be easier to do. More visiting, less eating!
    5. Serve meals restaurant-style.
    When you sit down for the main event, leave food in the kitchen (away from reach) rather than display a basket full of piping hot rolls, multiple casseroles, and an entire turkey directly on the table. When you’ve cleaned your plate, take a breather, and then decide if you really want seconds. Changing up the environment—in this case, by leaving food near the stove—can help reduce overall food intake.
    6. Fill up on fiber.
    Snacking on vegetables and other high-fiber items like legumes can help keep us fuller, longer (though there’s always space for dessert). Give the vegetable platter a second chance with a healthy, tasty dip.
    7. Use smaller plates or plates with decorations around the rip. Using smaller plates needs no further explanation, the decoration around the rim can trick the eyes to thinking there is more on the plate, because the food blends into the decor creating an illusion that there is more food on your plate. Solid white plates not recommended.
    8. Last one that we are going to mention, but certainly not least..
    JUST SAY NO! Your body does not crave sweets and junk! Bad bacteria in your cut does, so take a good 10 strain pre/pro biotic. Your brain, eyes and nose want it too! Take a picture with your phone of the bad food before you eat it and send it to yourself with the caption “I deserve to make myself feel bloated, gain weight, feel tired and have nothing to wear”
